A Summary of Starfire - Part 1

It took some time, but I feel this needs to be done. Quite a few plot holes have become evident. For those who aren't concerned, enjoy the summary. For those who are, know that I changed certain details. It was incredibly necessary at the beginning.

• Athen awakens in a destroyed forest, and starts moving towards the nearest city.
• Athen encounters Stilts, who is being assaulted by a mob.
• Athen attacks the mob, allowing Stilts to free himself, but then becomes the target and is knocked unconscious..
• Stilts recovers and manages to escape from the mob with Athen, towards the city.
• Drakar, a city guard, runs into Stilts, the contact lets Stilts mentally infect him.
• Drakar intercepts the mob, preventing them from advancing any farther.
• Stilts brings Athen to a rooftop and attempts to revive him with a plant growing there.
• Athen awakens, ignoring his shattered body which is slowly repairing itself.
• Drakar’s phantoms fail, and he is forced to fight the mob himself.
• Stilts begins to question Athen about his origins, causing Athen to break down mentally.
• The mob begins to fire upon Drakar with various guns.
• Nami, in the area searching for Stilts, is noticed by the mob, which he immediately charges.
• Stilts, watching the mob be destroyed, regrets their deaths and join the fray, incapacitating, but not killing, as many as possible.
• The mob breaks and runs at the sound of sirens approaching from the city center.
• Athen stumbles from the building, crashing to the concrete below, fracturing his leg.
• Drakar and Nami both head their separate ways.
• Stilts picks up Athen. Unknowledgeable about his injuries, he carries Athen to the Knifemen Guild Embassy.
• As he enters the embassy, he finds the Knifeman there ‘writing’ with a butterfly knife.
• Stilts explains the recent events to the Knifeman, who agrees to examine Athen’s shattered leg.
• As he repairs the leg, he informs Stilts that the Enforcers have begun using magic to track and enforce the restrictions on the mutant population.
• An explosion rips through the embassy.
• Drakar arrives at his mercenary companies hall and, after taking a moment to rest, begins to train with one of the newer members.
• The Enforcers arrive at the hall and request that Drakar be taken into their custody.
• After a moment of resistance, Drakar goes with his captors, the rest of his company to afraid to respond.
• Dagon watches Dakar’s imprisonment, reporting back before being ordered to continue observation elsewhere.
• Nami breaks into a nearby building via the roof to hide, only to be confronted by its owner and an Enforcer.
• Nami rams the Enforcer through the door, stumbling outside and discovering two more, which he dispatches.
• Nami moves towards smoke in the distance, only to encounter Dagon moving in the same direction.
• Dagon asks Nami for help.
• Nami ignores Dagon and continues on with Dagon following behind.
• At the site of the explosion, Athen is the first to recover. He removes a large metal pole that was imbedded in his chest.
• As Athen moves to help Stilts, he is confronted by Gastren.
• Athen and Gastren attempt to kill each other.
• Dagon grows tired of following Nami and imprints him with tracking nanobots before taking his leave.
• Drakar is brought to the nearest Enforcer building, where his interrogation at the hands of the Lady is begun.
• Dagon arrives at the scene of the fight and begins to dig out Stilts and the knifemen as Athen and Gastren engage.
• Gastren engages a booster after grabbing Athen, propelling them high into the sky.
• Stilts recovers and begins to move toward the probable impact location.
• The Lady traces Gastren’s location and her assistant leaves the building.
• Gastren and Athen come down through the roof of the structure, severely damaging the building.
• During the confusion of the impact, Drakar manages to escape from his bonds and begins to head towards the exit of the structure.
• Dagon attempts to infect the Gastren with nanomachines, but fails.
• Seeing Dagon in trouble, Drakar decides to help him.
• Working together, the two of them manage to temporarily defeat Gastren.
• Damaged, Gastren retreats, securing himself inside an experimental mech and catching the group of mutants and Dagon as they leave.
• The mech takes aim at Stilts, but Nami intervenes, taking the laser to the chest.
• Athen tanks another laser attack from the mech, allowing Drakar and Dagon to disable it before fleeing, apparently killing Gastren.
• Stilts tried to go back for Nami, but more enforcers arrive, forcing the group to flee the city.
• The four of them, Stilts, Dagon, Drakar, and Athen, enter the forest to the south.
• The Dark Anomaly arrives far to the north.
• The Knifeman confronts Stilts, and offers his service in exchange for the death of Gastren, who had blown up an embassy.
• The Lady is infuriated, but commands her soldiers to take both Gastren’s and Nami’s bodies for unknown reasons, while repairs and conducted on the damaged building.
• The Lady is informed of the impact to the north as the sun sets. Looking up to the sky, she watches as the remains of the human spacefleet engage the alien ship.

• Drakar goes hunting and returns with a deer, before going to sleep.
• Stilts studies the knife given to him by the Knifeman to seal their pact.
• Stilts cleans the deer and begins cooking it after giving Athen the knife.
• Stilts fashions himself a staff out of a branch.
• The Wizard notices the camp and approaches it, offering to help repair Athen.
• The Wizard’s offer is accepted, and he is given food.
• Dagon introduces himself to the others, who also make formal introductions, except Athen.
• In the middle of the night, Athen’s core attempts to restore itself, but fails.
• Athen regains control of his body, all of the remains of his memories are lost.
• As the sun rises in the morning, Drakar is the first to awaken.
• Drakar attempts to talk to the Knifeman, who is unresponsive
• Drakar proceeds to the nearby brook to wash up.
• The Knifeman assesses the group and realizes that all knowledge that he has involving Athen is forbidden.
• Dagon informs the others that his is there to look for allies and establish a landing site for the beginnings of a colony. He needs to retrieve a transceiver to contact the ship in orbit.
• The Wizard agrees to help, except to enter the city.
• Athen talks about repairing the planet, and surprises himself for being so knowledgeable.
• Stilts begins to tap into the Earth, and realizes that it is calling for help.
• Stilts agrees to help, offering a couple of alternative plans.
• The Wizard once again offers his help, even to the point of entering the city.
• Drakar affirms his loyalty and ability to help after an internal struggle with Stilts influence.
• The six of them prepare to return to the city.
• Once the preparations are complete, they approach the city from the south.
• Athen gives them all a plan. He and the Wizard will stay outside, while the rest go inside to activate the beacon for Dagon.
• Drakar offers a plan for entering the city, which involves feigning the capture of Stilts.
• The Knifeman leaves the group to spread chaos among the Enforcers.
• Athen consults with the Wizard about the ring and dagger he has.
• Due to the ministrations of the Knifeman and the recent happenings at the Enforcer headquarters, a riot breaks out in the city.
• Enforcer Nalor attempts to figure out what is going on.
• Nalor recalls some of the chaos that had occurred early that day, where some of his soldiers accidently killed another group of Enforcers after being confused.
• Nalor looks around his position on the street, noticing a Knifeman moving along it.
• The Knifeman is wearing unusual attire, a cloak and wide-brimmed hat.
• Nalor orders his men to kill it.
• The soldiers fire upon the Knifeman until they run out of ammo.
• The Knifeman kills all of the soldiers and decapitates Nalor.
• The Wizard discovers a connection between Athens ring and the blade the Knifeman had given Stilts.
• Stilts’ arms are bound and Dagon and Drakar lead him past the guards and into the city without event.
• Dagon reaches his safehouse and opens it, inside he retrieves the transceiver and a handgun.
• Dagan, Drakar, and Stilts are attacked by a group of Enforcers searching the building.
• The Knifeman follows a group of Enforcer officers into a hidden underground section of the headquarters.
• The Lady addresses the officers while the Knifeman hides. She believes that the city has fallen out of their control and they must activate the prototype to restore order.
• Several of the scientists state their skepticism that the prototype will even work.
• The Lady pulls out a handgun and threatens the officers into inputting their access codes.
• As soon as the prototype is activated, the pod-like container it was stored in explodes open.
• The prototype is then named the Aggregate.
• The Lady gives the Aggregate the order to purge mutants and rebels from the city.
• The Aggregate casts a spell that reveals the Knifeman before it jumps through the ceiling to the city above.
• The Knifeman kills all of the officers and scientists present, excluding The Lady.
• He gives The Lady the knife that he just killed the others with, before proceeding up through the hole the Aggregate made.
• There is a note on the knife “The beginning of knowledge is the discovery of something we do not understand”.
