From what I gather, Mars is fighting aliens. If not, then they are being all isolated, like Amercia in WW1 and 2 before we enetered. They are offering support, but not direct war, and only serving their own purposes, with a small caring of who wins, but enough of a caring to pick the right side to help(also a self benefiet thing).
