Chapter One
Micheal Murkly woke up in the morning at six o'clock on the dot. He did his morning routine as always. He shaved, took a shower, ate breakfast, and brushed his teeth. He had for years done these exact things in that exact order, so the actions had acquired a certain mechanical elegance to them. A dance of routine, constantly performed. His ballet was offset by an odd additional weight he felt on his left foot. He looked down to see what had thrown off his balance ever so slightly. As it turns out, his left foot had become an infant Sumatran Rhinoceros.
