Pet I'mma get in WoW

This is the pet I'm getting for my hunter when I get high enough to tame it.

It's Kuunavang, but red.

How long has this pet been in the game? I know some key people in ANet came from Blizzard, or something like that.

Well, the original version of it has been in WoW since launch, but that's a new skin they added to the monster type since the Burning crusade.
